Flight attendant exposes disturbing way couples are now joining mile-high club

The mile-high club is slang for risqué passengers who have had sexual intercourse on board an aircraft in flight and it usually occurs in the toilets of the cabin.

But now according to a well-travelled flight attendant, couples are raising the temperature even higher with a new way to join the club.

Heather Poole dished the dirt on the disturbing new trend which has been sweeping the world's cabins in her book, Cruising Attitude.

She wrote: "One thing I've noticed is that more and more mile-high members are avoiding the bathroom altogether, preferring to do the deed in their seat."

She continued: "They'll use a blanket to cover up, giggling and wiggling in the process, making a big public spectacular of themselves.

"As soon as one of us is clued into what might be going on, we'll spread the word and each take turns slowly passing by their seat as we investigate the matter further."

The air hostess also explained how couples will smile sheepishly as the attendants walk past, pretending everything is above board.

Back in September, a Virgin Atlantic flight attendant lifted the lid on whether the mile-high club actually exists.

Lucy-Jessica Carter, 28, opened up in a recent Q&A on her YouTube channel and uncovered some secrets of the profession.

She said: "I've had quite a few questions of this. Did I ever catch anyone in the mile-high club? No, I didn't. Honestly never.

"I mean there were a few occasions where two people came out of the toilet together, like it was a husband and wife."
