If you fancy staying somewhere that has a spaceship-like feel, minus the inconvenience of travelling through space, this quirky hotel is for you.

At CityHub in Copenhagen – a cross between a hostel and a hotel – guests sleep in Tetris-style L-shaped pods.

At first sight, they look claustrophobic, but are, in fact, surprisingly spacious, with enough space inside to fit two adults and luggage.

Carina writes: ‘At first sight, [the pods] look claustrophobic, but are, in fact, surprisingly spacious’

The pods are L-shaped, reveals Carina – Tetris-style hotel rooms

What’s more, they’re warm and, despite their compact size, almost eerily quiet.

Inside awaits a comfy king-sized bed, two shelves, charging ports, a Bluetooth speaker, enough room to stand up in – and a distorted mirror.

On arrival, guests use a self-serve check-in system and receive a wristband as a key.

The hotel is located 1.3km from Tivoli Gardens and is within walking distance of lively bars and restaurants

Travellers can help themselves to beer and wine at the self-serve bar, then relax in a chill zone.

But solo travellers hoping to meet like-minded individuals should know that social activities are non-existent and others keep to themselves in the communal areas.

With more than 8,800 reviews on Booking.com and an average score of nine out of ten, it’s easy to see why CityHub is a popular choice for travellers.

But is it worth paying £219 per night – and is there really enough space for two people?

There is, but the room may feel cramped for two tall people.

However, CityHub is a memorably quirky experience, with fantastic service from friendly staff and a convenient location just 1.3km (0.8 miles) from Tivoli Gardens and within walking distance of lively bars and restaurants. So all in all, I’d say the price represents good value.
