Majorca named one of the world’s best holiday hotspots alongside Hawaii

Majorca is a popular destination for holidaymakers in Britain thanks to its warm weather and sparkling sea.

Now, the gorgeous island has been named one of the world’s best holiday destinations by TripAdvisor, particularly for tourists looking to take in spectacular views.

The Spanish island can be a cheap trip away too as flights aren’t extortionate and many travel companies have all-inclusive packages available.

Majorca sits in the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea and is known for its beach resorts, stunning coves, mountains and cracking nightlife.

The capital city – Palma – is filled with ancient cathedrals and a royal palace so it’s great for history buffs.

But, TripAdvisor named Majorca as its seventh top destination for nature lovers following great hotspots like Tanzania, Mauritius and Nepal.

The review site said: “Attracting visitors from all parts of the world, Majorca is a dreamy island destination in the Mediterranean Sea, just off the southeast coast of Spain.

“There's something for every taste—beaches and coves, a spectacular mountain range, romantic fishing villages and a rustic countryside dotted with almond and olive groves.”

Some of the top attractions on the island recommended by TripAdvisor include touring Alcudia Old Town, hiking the Serra de Tramuntana mountains and living it up at Playa de Muro beach.

The site claims Majorca is one of the best “places to enjoy the outdoors” so we recommend a boat or mountain tour!

Holiday site TUI has some incredible stays from just £198 per person.

You can stay at the Protur Aparthotel Bonaire in a self-catering apartment for four days for less than £200*.

Alternatively, On the Beach is offering seven nights at the Galaxia hotel with flights from the UK for a tiny £174 per person.
