Beautiful Bournemouth Beach has been named the best beach in the whole country in TripAdvisor’s annual Travellers’ Choice awards. It also comes in at 24th on Europe’s top 25 beaches list.
The long sandy beach has had many accolades over the years not only for its quintessential English vibe, but for its pristine sands and dramatic location, edged in greenery.
There’s something for everyone along the seven miles of lovely beach, which is why it’s so popular.
The main beach has been welcoming beach-goers since the Victorian times and there is no shortage of amenities and entertainment right on the beach.
There are cafes galore, shops, amusement arcades, and even an oceanarium, all a short walk from the beach.

Take a walk along its spectacular pier. It was built in 1880 and stretches out into the sea for nearly 1,000 ft. It offers stunning views across to the Isle of the Wight and over the Purbeck hills.
There’s a huge collection of machines in the amusement arcade. Best of all, you can launch yourself on the Pier Zip, which is the world’s first pier-to-shore zip wire.
From the pier you can take a pleasure cruise to Swanage, Poole and the Isle of Wight which is nearby.

Another wrote, “Lovely beach unspoiled by busy roads, amusement parks, arcades, shops, bars and restaurants. Very much this beach has been protected from the development by the cliff that leads down from the town of Bournemouth”.
While another posted: “Stunning beach with plenty to see and do with a long pier. Be aware there is a £1.50 charge to walk down the pier”.
