Next time you choose your seat on a plane, opting for one at the back may be the better choice if you\u2019re chasing an upgrade.<\/p>\n
A flight attendant has revealed that this area is more likely to get you bumped to first class for free, if the flight is quiet.<\/p>\n
Cierra Mistt, who works as a flight attendant for an airline in the US, has been sharing her top tips and secrets about flying.<\/p>\n
Her recent video, shared to her 2.8 million followers on TikTok, revealed that passengers at the back of the flight were more likely to get lucky for a first class upgrade.<\/p>\n
She said in the video: “If our flight isn’t full, we have to move people for weight and balance purposes.<\/p>\n
“Normally all aircraft are tail heavy.<\/p>\n
“So if we have to move people up to the front, where do you think we are going to take them from? The back.”<\/p>\n

Here’s where to sit on a plane if you want an upgrade.Source:istock<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n RELATED LINKS: What to say at the airport to get perks<\/b><\/p>\n However, she said one of the “easiest ways” was just being nice to the gate attendants and flight crew, such as bringing them a drink or snacks.<\/p>\n She added it was amazing the “miracles they could work when given a Starbucks drink or a box of chocolates” as they often don’t have time for food if working back-to-back flights.<\/p>\n A different flight attendant explained that for a first class upgrade, the thing to leave at home was the jeans and trainers, but that didn’t mean you had to wear expensive designer gear.<\/p>\n They said: “Smart but understated.
