Azamara’s newest ship will spend its first season in the Mediterranean after being christened on an inaugural cruise from Monte Carlo.
The Azamara Onward will be Azamara’s fourth vessel. It will debut in spring 2022 and offer 22 European itineraries and three new land explorations. The ship’s maiden cruise will begin in Monte Carlo and end in Venice.
The Onward’s inaugural season will include 7- to 15-day sailings that will visit destinations including the Black Sea, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Italy and Spain. The cruises will include 85 late nights and 21 overnight stays in cities across Europe. New pre- and post-cruise journeys include visits to Cappadocia and Istanbul in Turkey and a mythical tour of Greece.
The Onward will join the brand’s existing fleet of R-class vessels: the Azamara Pursuit, Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest. The ship, formerly the Pacific Princess, was purchased from Carnival Corp. shortly after private-equity firm Sycamore Partners acquired Azamara from Royal Caribbean Group.
