After a year and a half break, Hans Lagerweij has returned to his role as CEO of Albatros Expeditions.
Lagerweij rejoined the company on July 1 after exploring other career opportunities, according to the line.
Since Lagerweij left, the Albatros has expanded beyond Greenland itineraries to sail the Arctic, Europe, South America and Antarctica. The line has also begun looking to the U.S. as a major source market, stretching beyond Scandinavia and Asia, Lagerweij said.
The line took delivery of its second ship, the Ocean Albatros, in June. It will sail during the 2023 Arctic season to Svalbard, Iceland and Greenland. The Albatros is the sister ship of the Ocean Victory.
