New Danube cruise from Emerald features an extended Budapest stay

Emerald Cruises has added a new Danube sailing to its 2024 lineup.

The 10-day Danube Explorer & Highlights of Budapest itinerary departs from Munich and ends in Budapest. It includes extended time in the Hungarian capital, with three nights planned in the city known as “The Pearl of the Danube.”

While in Budapest, guests will see such highlights as the city’s largest indoor market and will tour its storied hillsides and neighborhoods via motorcoach. Guests will also have the chance to visit the nearby artist village of Szentendre outside of the city and will enjoy evening cruises on the Danube to see the city lit up at night.

The cruise, which will operate on Emerald Cruises’ signature Star Ships, will visit five countries overall — Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria and Hungary.  Calls include Passau, Germany; Bratislava, Slovakia; and Linz and Vienna in Austria.

Cruises run from April through October, and fares start at $4,845 per person.
