The Almae Collection debuted La Nauve Hotel et Jardin in Cognac, France, in July. A former distillery on the banks of the Charente River, the 12-suite boutique hotel marks the brand’s third property.
The belle epoque mansion was restored over four years, retaining its facade and grand staircase, while gaining modern features, such as contemporary chandeliers made for the property in Murano, Venice.
Other amenities include the Paradis, a hidden brandy cellar; a 12-acre garden with a century-old sequoia tree, a small canal, fruit trees, a vegetable garden and rosebushes; access to a private boat and canoes on the river; an outdoor swimming pool; and e-bikes for off-property exploration.
Dining options include Notes and Brasserie des Flaneurs for fine dining highlighting local ingredients.
Guests can sample up to 70 hand-selected bottles of cognac, try a custom cognac cocktail or visit the old Chateau de Cognac.
