Spa suite villa coming to Tuscanys Castello di Vicarello

Castello di Vicarello, a castle hotel on the Tyrrhenian Sea in the Maremma region of Tuscany, will open for the season March 1 with a new Spa Suite and a renovated private villa.

The seven-suite, 12th century property is located on nearly 100 acres of private land comprising vineyards, olive groves, farmland and forests.

The new one-bedroom Spa Suite features a private steam room, sauna, outdoor shower in a garden setting, a hot tub and a private deck.

The two-story, one-bedroom Villa Chiesina, the hotel’s largest suite, has added a private wine cellar with vintages selected by the in-house sommelier.

Both suites are priced from about $1,133 per night, double.

Finally, the property has added a small plates menu, available at either of the hotel’s two infinity pools as well as en suite.

Existing facilities include two swimming pools, outdoor massage services, two kitchen gardens and extensive lawns.

Year-round activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, guided wine tours, leather workshops, cooking classes and yoga. Seasonal excursions include truffle and mushroom hunting, thermal bathing, boat tours, picnics on the river, beachcombing and grape and olive harvesting.

Castello di Vicarello is available for buyouts and can accommodate up to 22 guests.

The property is privately owned by Aurora and Carlo Baccheschi Berti and their family.
