The Aruba Art Fair will take place Sept. 8 to 10 in the island’s art hub of San Nicolas.
The fair is the culmination of Art Week, from Sept. 4 to 10, and will offer performances; tours and workshops; live music; and dining and beverage options. From Aug. 26 to Sept. 12, the streets of San Nicolas will be adorned with 60 murals from 12 international artists.
The entry fee for the three-day art fair is $20, or $15 per day; kids under 12 get in free.
On Sept. 4, organizers will host Art Talk with the theme “Unchained,” which delves into how different islands and countries have navigated the healing process after the abolition of slavery, and the resulting intersection of art and history. Admission to the Art Talk is priced at $30.
On Sept. 5, organizers will hold a series of workshops where participants will learn new mural techniques from experienced artists. Prices for the workshops range from $50 to $85.
The event’s Art Fashion show will take place on Sept. 6 and include designers from Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten, the Netherlands, Africa and Colombia. Admission to this event is $30, $100 for VIP.
The grand finale of Art Week will be the Aruba Art Fair. Curated by Renwick Herronimo from Fundacion Museo Arubano, the event will feature four indoor galleries and pop-up restaurants, capped off with a multicultural parade that celebrates the diversity of art and culture.
