New Grenada program highlights small, unique places to stay

Visitors looking for slightly off-the-grid boutique accommodations in the tri-island nation of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique have a new resource at their disposal.

The just-launched Simple Stays Grenada program is designed to highlight a range of accommodations on all three islands “that provide an authentic bespoke experience for travelers,” according to Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority.

“Grenada’s wide variety of boutique hotel and villa options is a distinguishing factor in the destination’s visitor appeal,” Roach said.

“The goal is to showcase these properties … and to support them in our overall pandemic recovery,” she said.
The program focus on hotels and resorts with 50 rooms or less. The 15 properties in the program range in size from three cottages at Bogles Round House in Carriacou to 16 guest rooms at the SeaBreeze Hotel near Grand Anse Beach in Grenada.

It also includes Allamanda Beach, the Bougainvillea Apartments and Mount Edgecombe Plantation in Grenada, John’s Unique Resort in Carriacou and Melodies Guesthouse in Petite Martinique, among others.

To incentivize visitors to explore the tri-island destination and to stay at one of the properties in the Simple Stays program, discounts of up to 50% are available for a number of activities, including river tubing, eco dives, hiking and visits to the tree-to-bar chocolate factory on St. George’s, Grenada.

The discounts have no expiration date and can be enjoyed by visitors who stay in any of the accommodation options in the Simple Stays program.
