Sunset Station in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson, Nev., is starting a propertywide upgrade, beginning with a brand-new STN Sportsbook and high-limit slot room.

The sports book will feature a bar and 150-foot video wall, lounge-style seating and betting kiosks.

While the current sports book area will be closed until next spring for renovation, a temporary race and sports book will be next to the Rewards Center. Club Madrid will be transformed into a football-viewing party every Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for NFL and college football games throughout the fall.

The existing high-limit slot room will become part of the sports book, and the relocated high-limit room will be in the former keno area.

Retaining the property’s Spanish-style theme, the casino floor will be refreshed in phases. It will have new carpet, improved lighting, updated facades and modernized restrooms.

Sunset Station, which opened in 1997, is part of Station Casinos company, which with Boyd Gaming has dominated the Las Vegas locals market for decades. The Station brand includes Durango Casino & Resort, which will open Nov. 20, Green Valley Ranch & Spa and flagship Red Rock Resort.
