Santa Thrown from Sleigh During Disneyland Holiday Parade

Holiday travelers visiting Disneyland got more than they bargained for Saturday when Santa was launched from his sleigh after the float he was traveling on malfunctioned.

According to WDWNT.com, Santa was traveling on a float as part of the California theme park’s Christmas Fantasy Parade along Main Street U.S.A. when the sleigh broke, sending Mr. Claus right out of his seat.

Santa was left dangling from a safety harness which prevented any injuries while workers freed the jolly St. Nicholas from his predicament. Social media was abuzz with photos and videos of the incident:

Santa must’ve fallen off his sleigh somewhere… the sleigh broke. No more eggnog for him!! pic.twitter.com/68XxuYmsk6

Even as he hung from the damaged sleigh, Santa remained calm and still waived to the crowd before being pulled down. The parade continued a short time later with Santa safely on the ground walking next to his float.

The incident caused a slight delay in the parade, but no injuries were reported. Santa is expected to be ready for his long-distance Christmas Eve flight.
