Just a hop and a skip over the road from Paris’s Gare du Nord lies a truly unique, boutique space. Hidden behind Paris’s classic Haussmann facades is a cosy cacophony of colour and style, 25hours Hotel Paris Terminus Nord, which instantly feels like a home from home in the bustling city.
25hours Hotel Paris Terminus Nord is one of the 25hour group’s offerings, with others across Europe in the likes of Berlin, Copenhagen, Florence and Dubai.
You’re basically tipped out of the Eurostar onto the doorstep of the international brand’s Parisian offering, a hidden gem amid the City of Lights. Can you get more convenient than that? And who says comfort and style don’t go hand in hand?
Paying homage to Paris’s African community in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, this hotel was created with the multi-award-winning design agency Dreimeta. The interiors give the chic, expensive feel of one of the world’s most famous private members clubs for creatives (you know the one).
Bright pops of colour and murals make for a visually stimulating hub, a place to invigorate you ahead of your Parisian adventures.
Fuel at the delicious Neni restaurant with its Israeli-Mediterranean cuisine served in Balagan style (meaning pleasant chaos). You must try the sweet noodles dessert and the mango hummus.
Then head to the gentlemen’s club-inspired Sape Bar, where there is often and DJ and always very strong cocktails!
If you are so inclined, use the working typewriters in the hotel lobby to send a love note or letter home. After you’ve penned your note, take it to reception and purchase a stamp, after which they will post the letter for you.
If you have work to do, the hotel boasts generous working spaces, which are quite comfy.
Proving it’s not about size, it’s what you do with it, all the hotel’s rooms are gorgeously designed in rich, saturated colours.
The rooms range from a “small”, 12 to 16sqm with a single bed to the “extra large plus”, boasting 30 to 33sqm, a king-size bed, and a bathtub in the room.
I was lucky enough to stay in the extra large room, with balconies facing Gard du Nord. I could have people watched with a glass of wine in hand all day.
Alas, there was much to do, as there always is in the city. Thankfully, 25hours provides bikes from Schindelhauer.
Ask at reception to rent a bike, and head out into the city. Otherwise, hop into the metro station just yards from the hotel entrance.
