Did you know that today – 25th April – is World Malaria Day? According to the World Health Organization, malaria is responsible for around 660,000 human deaths every year, and around 3.3 billion people – that’s about half of the world’s population – are at risk. It’s fitting therefore that we should know more about the risks that malaria presents and where in the world the risks are greatest (see the WHO country profiles). World Malaria Day aims to raise awareness about, and control the spread of, malaria.
You can learn more about malaria from this video from the World Health Organization or read up on their “T3. Test. Treat. Track Initiative“.
