An Airbnb host was gobsmacked to find that her guests had turned her rental home into a "full-blown club" – complete with bouncers and dozens of party-goers. Airbnb has banned parties in all of its homes, but these folk took the rule break even further.
Jessica White checked the CCTV cameras outside her holiday home after receiving a notification about excessive noise at the property. Such cameras can send alerts to your phone when they detect unusual activity or sound usually to alert you to break ins.
When Jessica looked at the video, she saw several people, seemingly acting as bouncers, standing outside the property and a huge crowd of people partying within the building.

Jessica posted about the shocking incident on TikTok. She wrote: "I had to get out in my PJs to kick them out … this is how NOT to rent an Airbnb."
In follow-up videos, the horrified Airbnb host showed the impromptu club night being broken up. Another clip showed the damage caused to the home by the revellers.
In one clip crowds of people can be seen streaming out of the property. It seemed they were fleeing the party after word reached them that the police were on their way.
Ms White, whose bio describes her as a "property management/cleaning business owner", told The Daily Dot: "After glancing at the cameras, and realising that this party was a huge liability and completely out of control (with over 20 cars and around 100 people), I had to make a decision to evict them, which is not something that I like to do and I really try to avoid it at all costs.
"From the time that I realised I needed to take action to the time that I got there was about two, maybe two-and-a-half hours. There were certain protocols to follow. Since it was private property, the officers weren’t able to legally evict them; I had to be there to tell them to leave our property."
Jessica hasn’t explained how much damage was done to the property or how much it will cost to fix, but did say it was "quite a lot".
"This is a high-end rental with high-end guests that stay. They are required to take out all trash and clean all dishes, and to take care of things. So it is a big deal for all this to be left," she added.
The rental home host shared check-out requirements that guests are made aware of when booking as well as the house rules, which explicitly forbid parties.
Some suggested that those renting the property had done nothing wrong, particularly as the party seemed sedate and bouncers had been hired to keep things under control. Opinions on the video were split, with some suggesting that the Airbnb guests did nothing wrong.
"Seems like a pretty calm party," one person wrote. Another described the hiring of bouncers the behaviour of a "five-star guest".
Others were less supportive of the party goers, suggesting they should have followed the rules, regardless of how respectful they were partying. "People don’t realise there’s rules for renting and there’s neighbours, it’s not their house [and] the owner has to pay for repairs and damage," one person wrote.
In June last year Airbnb banned all parties from all of its properties indefinitely, with the holiday lettings company then deciding to make permanent a temporary ban on bashes which was introduced in 2020. Since the measure was put in place during the pandemic, there has been a 49% drop in party reports in Ireland and 63% drop in the UK in Airbnb properties.
The company made the move in order to keep people living close to Airbnb rentals as happy as possible, and not impacted by noise from partying holidaymakers.
