American tourists have spoken out about the “weirdest” cultural differences between the UK and the US, which include fashion sense and fast food.
Kobie Jordan is the interviewer who describes himself as a “meer Yankee living among Brits” as he enjoys interviewing people on the street to hear their thoughts on his TikTok account @kjordyyy.
He recently asked American tourists travelling on holiday about some of the “weirdest things” they noticed about British culture this summer and was surprised when one friend group was shocked by how people in London looked.
One American woman answered: “I feel like British people make fun of Americans for dressing badly, so I was expecting them to be..a little better” which made Kobie laugh.
Another woman added: “The haircuts aren’t very good for the men… there’s one [haircut] where it’s like a straight line on the side and they’re like bald on the sides.”
However, despite being confused by British people’s fashion choices, the American friend group said they really appreciated the people while spending time in the country.
One woman said: “The people are really nice though like one of our friends was sick on the subway and there were all these people who came and helped so that was really nice.”
Kobie replied: “I hoped they helped man, a person was in distress” to which the woman said: “No one in Seattle would have done that though…they would have walked away.”
In the comment section, many people agreed with America’s tourists. One commentator said: “I’m from New York, and was shocked that everyone was dressed like it was 2010 when I was in Britain.”
Another person said: “I thought British people were really nice and kind when I was over there, but unfortunately I agree about the haircuts.”

In another video, an American tourist named Reagan from Seattle said he was surprised at how much he disliked some British food while visiting.
Reagan said: “All the fast food is terrible. Is Nandos really your best? Dry chicken and yellow rice? Nah, that’s not it.”
However, his opinion was proven controversial and not shared by other Americans. One person said: “As an American, Nandos is the best food I’ve ever eaten…Brits also had my favourite chocolate and cheese! The food was good.”
Another commentator wrote: “The British can’t win when it comes to American chicken, sorry! But Greggs remains undefeated. You can’t beat a sausage roll.”
