The World’s 50 Best Beaches uses an expert travel team to rank the best beaches around the world.
According to this year’s ranking, Lucky Bay in Australia, a long beach with white sand, is the best in the world.
An incredible Scottish beach, which could be mistaken for the Caribbean, also made the top 50.
While no English beaches made the world’s top 50 ranking, a “beautiful” patch of coast did rank in Europe’s top 50.
Dorset’s Durdle Door beach was named the 48th best beach in Europe with visitors describing it as “absolutely stunning”.
Durdle Door on England’s Jurassic Coast is famous for its breathtaking limestone arch, one of the UK’s most iconic landmarks.
The beach is open to the public but visitors should always stick to the stairs as it’s very dangerous to climb on the rocks.
A tourist, ‘BAJ93’ on Tripadvisor, wrote: “Beautiful views, it was worth the trek. We luckily went on a very sunny day.”

There is parking at Durdle Door but Britons should be aware that the beach can get very busy during summer.
