Spinning Block Hotel, based at the new Holmes Mill development in Clitheroe has become a hit with guests thanks to its ‘Beercation’ package deal. Not only is the hotel home to the longest bar in the North, but also has an award-winning pub and brewery where you can sample the tastiest ales and lagers.
Those who prefer spirits to a pint can also visit the onsite Distillery Bar & Grill, where you can tuck into modern British cuisine options like steak and seafood.
Starting at £135, the offer allows guests to sample ales at the Bowland Beer Hall, before resting up in The Spinning Block Hotel’s rustic bedrooms.
Prices include a one night in a classic double bedroom where you will find an in-room beer gift, £50 worth of beer tokens to spend on-site and an ‘ale trail’ map.
Built in 1823, the newly renovated venue has rooms designed where “no two look the same” according to a spokesperson, which is part of the James’ Places group.
Visitors have a choice of staying in either two of the suites or family rooms, classic doubles or the penthouse to pull out all the stops.
Much like the Bowland Beer Hall, the interior of the hotel – which is actually the oldest building on the Holmes Mill site to be restored – is inspired by the site’s original features.
Owner James Warburton is credited as the ‘design influence’ behind it all.
He said: “The inspiration for the bedrooms came from everything we could see around us in the original industrial interiors – the peeling paints, the rusting metal, the exposed timbers and the bare concrete.
“We wanted to recreate the feel of the lost industrial heritage, just without the harsh realities of it.
“We think we’ve achieved the right mix. Modern day creature comforts with more than a nod to the building’s history.”
In contrast to the hotel’s time-period atmosphere, the rooms are decked out in the latest contemporary interior design features.
All rooms feature walk-in showers and vanity units, while widescreen TVs and tea and coffee-making facilities are also present.
And the penthouse is something not to miss out on, guests will have stunning panoramic views overlooking Clitheroe, with a lounge and in-room bathtub to relax in.
Other activities to enjoy onsite away from the bar include a four-screen Everyman Cinema, an ice cream parlour and a food hall to soak up in between beer tasting.
Those looking for short-trip away, Spinning Block Hotel is situated perfectly from some of the North’s largest cities, just a 90 minutes away from Leeds and under an hour from Manchester. Click here to book your stay.
