Tourists returning to Britain from Dubai will now be required to self-isolate for 10 days.
As of 4am today, the UAE is no longer on the “travel corridors” list in the UK.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps made the announcement via Twitter, yesterday night, that the country would be moved off the “no-quarantine” list at short notice.
It’s believed that there has been a “significant acceleration” in Covid cases being brought back to the UK from Dubai.
The new self-isolation period will apply to those arriving in England Northern Ireland and Wales.

Scotland already had a self-isolation requirement for those arriving from the UAE and this will remain in place.
Shapps said that current national restrictions “do not permit international travel other than for specific reasons.”
The change will affect people who travelled to Dubai before the national lockdown restricted travel, those on business or working abroad and expats who hope to come back to Britain.
In recent weeks, celebrities and influencers have been criticised for travelling to Dubai frequently.
The UAE was one of the few winter sun locations to welcome Brits for the last few months.
Anyone who returns to England, Wales or Northern Ireland after 4am today will be required to self-isolate for 10 days.
You should travel straight from the airport to your accommodation making no stops on your way home.
The quarantine period can be reduced to five days if you can show a negative coronavirus test.
Meanwhile, from Friday, all travellers trying to enter the UK will be required to produce a negative test result.
