Colorado Parks and Wildlife plans to celebrate Colorado Day and the state’s 147th birthday by offering free entry to all Colorado state parks on Monday, Aug. 7.
Colorado Day is Aug. 1, and commemorates the day in 1876 when President Ulysses S. Grant granted Colorado’s statehood. The state parks system is celebrating the anniversary by offering free admission to state parks on the first Monday of August. Other park fees will remain in effect on the day, including fees for camping reservations, boat and off-highway vehicle registrations, and hunting and fishing licenses.
Those who are considering taking advantage of the free admission can use the Parks and Wildlife park finder tool online.
