Couple gets engaged on budget Ryanair flight – and airline has savage response

A man was brutally trolled for popping the question during a budget Ryanair flight.

Instead of waiting to get to his destination to get down on one knee, he did so mid-air.

Lee – known as @ItsJustLeeHere online – asked his girlfriend Leah to be his wife in front of their loved ones.

In a Twitter pose, he wrote: "Proposed to Leah on a Ryanair flight with her family there. Luckily she said 'yes'."

Smiley Lee even posed for a snap with his equally ecstatic soon-to-be wife as she modelled her shiny new ring.

The Irish couple celebrated with some bubbly in a plastic cup as they sat on the bargain flight to Reus, Spain.

But it appears that Ryanair had other things on its mind rather than celebrating the happy pair.

The official Ryanair Twitter account quipped: "Leah, blink twice for random seat allocation."

How generous of them!

Since being shared on social media, the engagement post has gone viral.

While some congratulated the pair, others mocked the mid-flight proposal.

One person commented: "Would have been an awkward flight if not! Congratulations."

Another user mocked: "How did he have enough room to get down on one knee?"

While a third voiced: "Proposing on a flight… that's ballsy to say the least."

Someone else expressed: "I’d generally just say no 'cause it’s Ryanair to be honest."

Meanwhile, a fifth wrote: "Sorry but the Ryanair account is a comedy genius."
