Couple who booked 28-day holiday say it's cheaper than bills at home

A couple managed to snap up an incredible holiday deal in recent weeks.

Brenda and John Stewart-Davis spent four weeks in Egypt – and spent less than they would than on bills at home, reports the Independent.

The duo claim they switched off their heating and so would only pay the service charge for their gas and electricity, reports the Independent.

They also usually spend between £100 and £200 per week on food and drinks.

Instead of shelling out for bills they bagged the month-long trip to Stella Gardens for £609 per person.

They claim this is less than the cost of their usual bills as they’re retired and so spend all day inside with the heating on.

Brenda said: "It’s cheaper to be here," later adding, "Now we’re sitting without coats on in flip-flops."

They bagged the incredible deal with easyJet who offered a four week trip to Egypt with flights from Luton, Gatwick, Manchester or Bristol.

The tiny price also included luggage, transfers from the airport to the hotel and all-inclusive meals and drinks at the five-star resort.

The 28-day trip was sold to a limited number of people on four flights from the UK to Hurghada.

While it was pegged as being £650 Brenda and John claim they actually only spent £609 each – that’s about £21.75 a day.

The only thing they need to spend on while away is tipping and possibly additional excursions.

Stella Gardens is an impeccable resort with six main swimming pools and two children’s pools.

Also available is access to a private coral beach, white sandy bays and views of the Red Sea Mountains.

Diving and snorkelling tours are available for guests and there’s even a spa with mud baths for those who like to relax.
