With the amount of school children have missed during the pandemic and international travel restrictions only now being lifted, British schoolchildren have a lot of catching up to do. With 89 percent saying they would like to learn a foreign language; it seems children and adult alike agree that it may be time to take matters into their own hands.

Seeking easy-to digest methods for foreign languages, schoolchildren are using their holidays to get back on track with their language goals.

And now, easyJet has announced that it will give free introductory access to the Mizzi Mozzi series.

Written in seven languages, including French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Greek and English, a collection of the children’s book series will be available on all 300 easyJet aircrafts.

A total of 84 titles will be free on seatbacks via QR codes, part of the return of easyJet’s Flybraries.

Access to foreign languages, culture and experiences was restricted over the past 18 months, with the pandemic putting a halt to more than just a holiday abroad.

The inflight learning initiative comes from the results of a study carried out by the airline that saw 2,000 parents with children under 18 polled.

To take advantage of the free books, customers must scan the QR code on the seatback before take-off and download the app for free.

After choosing the language they would like to learn, families need to download the selected books before take-off.

The Mizzi Mozzi series is an introduction to European languages, with bite-sized content giving children the basics, such as hello in Spanish, and building their confidence with foreign languages.

As part of the easyJet study, 2,000 children were also polled.

88 percent of the children said they liked trying to use local lingo when abroad on holiday.

Many also believed that everyone will soon need to speak more than one language, as the world becomes more connected.

Mizzi Mozzi’s series of interactive stories is perfect for young children who need an introduction to a second language.

With titles like Mizzi Mozzi and the Muffly Mini-Moon Mammoffs, Mizzi Mozzi and the Almost-Squashed Space-Train or Mizzi Mozzi and the Diminishing Diminuendo Dragon, children are sure to be entertained as they learn.

Complete with beautiful illustrations, the series is available on the app and as printed books.

While teenagers and older children may not benefit much from the Mizzi Mozzi series, younger children will be delighted by the quirky stories and drawings.

The easyJet initiative will provide a great way to keep younger travellers entertained in the air and gives them a first insight into European languages they have not had a chance to hear for well over a year.
