Plenty of us have had our plans for a summer holiday thwarted over the last few years.
And, now that Covid-19 restrictions have lowered many of us were expecting to jet off somewhere sunny – that is until the cost of living crisis hit our pockets.
Well, luckily there’s one way you could bag a flight to your dream holiday without shelling out hundreds of pounds.
All you need to do is swap your current account.
Virgin Money’s latest current account offer gives switchers to the Virgin Money M Plus Account and Virgin Money Club M Account 20,000 Virgin Points to spend with Virgin Red.
These can be exchanged for return flights to Barbados, the Bahamas or St Lucia, as well as hundreds of other destinations through Virgin Red.
To qualify for the points you’ll need to do the following:
- Sign up for Virgin’s M Plus or Club M Account.
- Once the account is open you need to switch at least two direct debits and close your existing account.
- You need to be over 18 and be a resident in the UK.
- Once you have the account you’ll need to pay in at least £1,000 to your linked savings account and download the Virgin Money Mobile Banking app.
- The you’ll be sent a Virgin Red promo code for 20,000 Virgin Points which can be spent on everything from flights to food.
Your Virgin Red promo code can be used until 30 April 2023, but after you’ve redeemed your promo code and the points are added to your Virgin Red account, there is no specific expiry date for using the points.
So, you can book an economy flight to somewhere sunny whenever you like.
It is worth noting that taxes, fees and carrier imposed surcharges do apply and will depend on choice of cabin, departure airport and destination and are subject to change.
You can read more about the taxes that apply here.
And you can also use the points towards upgrading your seat on any flights you already have booked.
Using Virgin Red you don’t have to spend the points on a flight though.
If you’re a Greggs enthusiast, you could turn your points into 100 sausage or vegan sausage rolls or 100 doughnuts or muffins.
Music lovers could snap up a Virgin Crosley record player or Sofar Sounds tickets.
Or, for those in search of some entertainment, the points can be used to pay for VUE cinema tickets, Virgin Wines, three-course meals and even an Astronaut Experience for two at Space Store.
Members can even use Virgin Points for good by supporting a number of different charities or helping develop technology to remove carbon from the atmosphere.
