Jet2 claims it will become only airline to serve ‘proper brew’ to passengers

When flying many of us get settled into our seat and then purchase food or drink from the flight attendants, whether that’s a pre-holiday tipple or a hot drink early in the morning.

However, hot coffee or tea can often be disappointing when flying – and flight attendants have even warned holidaymakers not to drink the hot water on planes.

But, Jet2 claims that it’s scrapping disappointing tea in favour of a “proper brew”.

That's because the airline’s new in-flight menu is making it the first air carrier to offer Yorkshire Tea at 35,000ft. The two brands will launch the new venture from November 1, from Jet2's 10 UK bases.

The iconic hot drink will be available to buy onboard or offered as a hot drink option with pre-ordered adult meals.

Anyone who prefers the Northern tea giant over other brands will be thrilled that they can finally have a delicious, strong cuppa.

Steve Heapy, CEO of and Jet2holidays, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Yorkshire Tea and offering even more choice to customers by adding the popular tea brand to our In-Flight Menu.

“The partnership means that we are the first UK airline to offer Yorkshire Tea onboard, and we are sure that this new addition to our menu will delight customers looking to enjoy a tasty brew as they fly off on a getaway.

“We pride ourselves on delivering the very best customer service in every area, and that includes offering a wide selection of classic snacks, healthy food options, sweet treats, and refreshing drinks while customers jet away with us.

“We look forward to seeing Yorkshire Tea take to the skies and cannot wait for our customers to try the exciting choice on this new menu.”

Meanwhile, Ben Newbury, Yorkshire Tea Marketing Lead, said: “Here at Yorkshire Tea, we want tea lovers to enjoy our brews anytime they like – including in the sky.

“We’re chuffed to be partnering with so passengers can enjoy a proper brew in the comfort of their seats, wherever they’re travelling.”

The tasty tea isn’t the only new item to be added to the roster.

Pizza twists will be available in Margherita and pepperoni flavours from November 8.
