Love Island sparks Cape Town travel demand – here’s why you should visit

Love Island is giving us all the winter blues.

As we watch sexy singletons frolic in the sunshine, many of us are sat at home with the heating on and a cup of tea in hand.

So to ward off the jealousy, many of us will be booking romantic getaways of our own this month.

And why not take inspiration from the ITV2 show itself?

To truly match the Islanders’ experiences, visiting Cape Town could be a shout.

The cheapest month to visit seems to be March, when you can bag one-way flights from £198.

In March, Cape Town has average highs of 27C.

This allows holidaymakers to lounge around the pool like Love Island stars are doing this month.

Alternatively, they can check out the sights that the South African capital has to offer.

The port city, which is on the country’s southwest coast, boasts stunning landscapes.

It’s nestled beneath the majestic Table Mountain.

You can see the peak by booking a table car – or hike up it if you’re feeling adventurous.

Cape Town also boasts plenty of Blue Flag coastline.

This includes Gordons Bay, Bikini Beach and Fish Hoek.

Another coastal area that tourists spend days at is Boulders Beach.

The location, which is between Simon’s Town and Cape Point, is home to African penguins.

It also boasts boulders that are millions of years old, as well as rock pools and picturesque bays.

Once tourists have adventured to some of Cape Town’s most jaw-dropping natural areas, they may want to wind down with some wine.

South Africa is famous for its plonk and there are plenty of vineyards you can visit in the capital.

Wine tasting and tours are also available – and they’re bound to leave you feeling very merry.
