A woman revealed she and her husband accidentally wore a secret symbol indicating they were swingers while on holiday. Swinging is when a couple – married or not – is willing to have sex with people outside of their marriage.
It’s not the same as cheating as both partners must be aware and happy with the agreement. Generally, couples will either look for a third person to join them for a threesome or are happy to swap partners with another couple.
But, it can apparently get a bit tricky to find others who are willing to get piggy with couples or each others spouses while on holiday. There are some holiday dating apps that might help, but it’s otherwise not something you can simply ask around the pool.

So, swingers use codes including wearing a particular fruit – as one woman found out and shared on TikTok. Linda Jean W, @ItsLJ said: "Thinking of wearing matching pineapple swimsuits with my husband on vacation because I thought it was cute."
Posting on TikTok, the woman shared a photo montage of her husband and herself wearing swimwear covered in pineapples. She says she did so because she "thought it was cute".
It seems that, for those who are part of the lifestyle, wearing matching outfits with the fruit motif on it is a symbol to swingers showing you’re up to have sex! Who’d have thought it?!
Apparently, the upside down pineapple is a common hint swingers use on holidays like cruises The Cruise Mummy blog states: "On a cruise (and sometimes also on land) ‘pineapple’ is code for swinging or wife-swapping.
"If you see pineapple on a cruise ship door it means the people are up for meeting other couples for 'adult fun'. If you see someone wearing an upside-down pineapple badge or pin, it means that they’re actively looking for a partner swap. "
In the comments of Linda's video people were gobsmacked. One woman said: “I thought this was cute until I remembered what the pineapples stand for lmao.”
While another noted: “I feel like they should pick something a little more obscure, pineapple stuff is too cute.” A third said: “Let’s take pineapples back! Let swingers use something else.”
It also doesn’t stop at pineapples. A holidaymaker in-the-know added: “Swingers use flamingos outside their camper/rvs at campgrounds. The more you know.”
But, others didn’t believe her. One said: "You both knew, quit playing."
However, when asked if she would give the lifestyle a try she noted: “Not for us, but no judgement.”
Swingers even weighed in on the debate. One person said: "My wife and I are in the lifestyle. Upside pineapples always been the thing. Not right side up."
Another added: "It’s been around since the 60’s." While a third noted: "I’m a swinger and never heard this until recently."
