A holidaymaker recently revealed that they were made to swap seats on their flights even though they’d paid for the extra legroom space – and people were outraged.
They posted the scenario on Reddit and claimed to have splashed out for a front-of-cabin seat with no rows in front.
This usually means that there’s plenty of room to stretch out your legs while flying.

The passenger commented that they’d specifically selected the seat for their 10-hour journey, reports the Sun.
But, just days before they flew they were sent an email telling them they had been re-allocated to a seat several rows back from their original choice.
The airline claimed a mum and her baby “needed” the seats instead – likely because the front seats often come with attachable bassinets for little ones to sleep in.
The passenger wrote: “So me and my partner are going to New York in a few days and we booked bulkhead seats with extra leg room because we wanted to be more comfortable.
"Then three days before our trip, we get an email that says your seats have been changed to a few rows back.
"We got downgraded but we paid extra for those seats?"
They spent hours trying to speak to the airline about the change.
The tourist added: "I tried very calmly explaining how we booked those months ago and how we paid extra for them and how they can't just downgrade our seats to give to someone else.
"And after hearing that, the airline just said so sorry but the mom needs easy access to the bathrooms and she needs to put her baby bed in front and all that."
They commented: “We booked these tickets MONTHS ago and they wanted to just give them to a mom and a crying baby.”
After arguing they said that the airline upgraded them to seats with extra leg room in another part of the plane though “not first class”.
The disgruntled holidaymaker added: "I don't know, I just got so p***** […] why did they act like I was the crazy one for not wanting to give up our seats we paid for to a 'helpless mother' who needs it?
“Also this is a 10 hour plane ride btw it's not like a short trip why would this mom bring her baby anyway??”
In the comments, it seems that most people are on the poster's side.
“So you basically had to spend 2+ hours of your life arguing with someone to get what you paid for,” said one.
Another added: “Why does everything have to be childcentric? You are a paying customer with a contract and a timely proper booking with every right to sit where you chose to. It's bad enough there are crying brats on board most flights now.”
But, others sided with the mum and the airline.
One person wrote: “Those seats are the ones that can accommodate a bassinet that latches onto the bulkhead. That’s definitely a thing on some airlines, on long hauls.”

An airline worker added: “I thought the same thing. Bulkhead is created for the cots.”
While a travel agent noted: “I used to be a travel agent and even if somebody paid to reserve those seats we always had to tell them that it's possible they'll be changed if a parent needed the bassinets.”
