We can all agree, there are some unwritten rules in flights.
Don't get your bare feet out, don't use the plane air vents for laundry, and don't cross the cabin crew – flight attendants have already warned of passengers' worst habits that will instantly get you on their bad side.
It's easy to get annoyed when it's a stranger – but what happens when it's someone you know?
Well, one Reddit user faced that very issue when their girlfriend brought a lasagne onboard a plane – and "didn't take kindly" after being asked to put it away.

Posting on one of Reddit's popular 'AITA' threads, the holidaymaker wrote: "My gf ordered lasagna in the airport terminal right before boarding, knowing we didn’t have time to eat it before we boarded. We boarded right after she received her food. After we sat down, before taking off, she opened it up and started eating.
"I didn’t say anything at first, but then a flight attendant approached and said in an informative way (i.e., not overly positive or negative), 'Oh you’re the person eating lasagna. we can smell it throughout the whole plane”. And then she left us."
The traveller says that they then assumed the comment may have been a "passive aggressive" attempt at warning that the food was proving quite pungent for other passengers.
They continued: "At that point I did lean over to my gf and suggested she not eat it on the plane because my interpretation of the flight attendant’s comment was a passive-aggressive way of telling my gf that everyone could smell her lasagna throughout the plane and that it would be best to put it away for the sake of others who might not appreciate the strong smell of her food."
It seems the suggestion didn't go down well.
They said: "GF put up a bit of a fuss and didn’t want to put it away at which point I told her it was likely ruining other people’s flight experience having to smell her food.
"She didn’t take kindly to those words."
People were quickly divided over whether the smell of lasagna would have been problematic. Some argued that you can get cheesy pasta dishes served as in-flight meals, and others questioned whether everyone in the flight would have been affected by the smell.
One lasagna defender wrote: "It doesn’t smell. The funny thing is that I’ve been served lasagna on a flight before as one of the included meal options."
However, others argued that smells are subjective – and it could have been disruptive for others.
One person explained: "Actually for people that don't like lasagna it does smell bad. My daughter hates cheese and she can smell it and its nauseating to her if she does. Same with fish.
"It really is rude when people bring food on a plane that fills the plane with that smell. We have had it happen several times."
However, one user claiming to be a former flight attendant said that the poster may have been wrong in assuming that the cabin crew had an issue in the first place.
They wrote: "You have assumed the flight attendant was making a passive aggressive comment. I worked my way through College as a flight attendant. We don't make passive aggressive comments, we make assertive comments. "Ma'am, I'm sorry but your food is making passengers ill throughout the plane'."
