A woman has claimed that she was “humiliated” and “kicked off” a plane due to her skin condition.
Jaqueline Ngu went viral on TikTok this week after she alleged staff forced her to leave a Spirit Airlines flight and provide medical proof that the appearance of her skin was caused by eczema.
Eczema is a non-contagious skin condition which causes dry, flaky skin, redness and sometimes weeping sores.

Jacqueline captioned her first video: “Misinformation leads to discrimnation/hostility. Everyone with a visible non-contagious skin condition has been anticipating this.”
In the video she showed herself upset and wearing a mask.
The creator wrote: “They had me get off the plane in front of everyone along with my wife to interrogate me about the eczema I’ve had my whole life.
“They asked me to provide medical documents and told my wife to watch her attitude.
“I’ve never been so humiliated in my life.”
Jaqueline was flying with US company Spirit Airlines and tagged them stating: “Maybe teach your employees what monkeypox looks like before you catch hundreds of medical discrimination cases.”
The video received more than 300,000 likes and the young woman posted a follow up video.
In the clip, she stated: “We were able to board the flight again after I presented a tube of my prescribed eczema cream and my wife called out the CRO on being discriminatory (which is when she was told there was no need for an ‘attitude’.
“As we walked down the plane again, a flight attendant was walking down the aisle and when she saw me she promptly tuned around and walked the other way, not even looking at me as if eye contact would spread it.
“This has happened to other people who were not so lucky to have anything with them as ‘proof’.”
In the comments people sympathised with the woman’s plight.
One person said: “As someone who has eczema, this makes me furious. People are so ignorant.”
Another added: “They can’t just demand medical records without stating it’s a requirement prior to flying.”
“I have eczema too and people are cruel about it usually anyway and I know this is gonna make it so much worse,” a third added.
Monkeypox is a tropical viral infection spread through close contact.
Symptoms include a rash which starts as raised spots and turns into small blisters.
