The Chatwal Lodge, a new luxury property within a 2,500-acre gated residential community in New York’s Catskills, is scheduled to open April 1.
Located in The Chapin Estate 90 miles north of New York in the town of Bethel, the lodge sits on 100 acres and offers 11 guest accommodations with private patios.
The lodge overlooks the 1,000-acre Toronto Reservoir Lake, and the hotel will offer a menu of outdoor activities, wellness experiences and culinary programming highlighting seasonal ingredients and foraging.
The rooms feature private minibars, fireplaces, flat-screen smart televisions, docking stations, WiFi and a choice of complimentary newspapers every morning.
Some of the accommodations include lakeside decks, outdoor showers, soaking tubs, kitchens, dining rooms and living areas. Seven additional rooms are expected to be added by 2023.
The culinary program will be helmed by chef Jesse Kloskey, who has previously worked at Michelin-starred restaurants in Napa Valley, Calif. The food and beverage offerings will be based on a farm-to-table ethos emphasizing traditional techniques such as dry-aging and fermentation.
Activities include guided stargazing, birdwatching and fishing excursions, and guests can also enjoy horseback riding, hiking trails and priority access to concerts and other shows at the Pavilion at Bethel Woods.
The property also includes two banquet spaces, a fitness center and a 4,400-square-foot activity center with movie screenings, billiards, shuffleboard, duckpin bowling and other activities.
All-inclusive rates will start at $1,200 per night based on double occupancy and will include three meals per day, per guest; beverages, including wine, liquor and Champagne; outdoor activities including boating, canoeing, paddleboarding, kayaking, hiking and bicycling; and use of the activity and fitness centers.
The Chatwal Lodge is a development from Dream Hotel Group, which includes the Dream Hotels, Time Hotels, Chatwal and Unscripted Hotels brands.
