Virgin Voyages has announced the\u00a0third ship in its four ship fleet:\u00a0The Resilient Lady is scheduled to be complete on July 1, 2022, joining\u00a0sibling\u00a0ships Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Richard Branson-owned cruise company has had a slow start thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, which squashed Virgin’s\u00a0plans\u00a0to<\/strong>launch in April 2020. Now, after multiple delays, its\u00a0first ship, Scarlet Lady is scheduled to debut in July. Its second, Valiant Lady, which was supposed to debut this May, had its launch pushed back to November.<\/p>\n In spite of those\u00a0delays, Virgin Voyages president and CEO Tom McAlpin\u00a0told USA TODAY that Resilient Lady is still on track.<\/p>\n “We clearly see a light at the end of the tunnel with vaccines on the rise and hopefully by summertime, everyone will have a vaccine,” McAlpin said, adding that the ship’s launch is still more than a year away\u00a0and that bookings haven’t\u00a0yet begun.<\/p>\n
