KLM will restore most destinations in its North American network this summer, albeit at lower frequencies and seating capacities than pre-pandemic levels, the carrier announced.<\/p>\n
In total, KLM plans to fly to 16 North American destinations this summer, “practically returned to its original level” compared with 17 in the summer of 2019, according to KLM president and CEO Pieter Elbers. That includes tentative plans to resume service to Las Vegas and Minneapolis, though those routes will depend on travel restrictions lifting between Europe and the United States. KLM will service the sole remaining market, Salt Lake City, through its partnership with Delta Air Lines.<\/p>\n
While frequencies and capacity will be below 2019 levels and will vary by destination, KLM expects those will gradually increase as vaccination levels climb and restrictions lift, according to the carrier. KLM will further add to its North American network after the summer with new service to Orlando and Cancun.<\/p>\n
