The U.K. will end Covid-19 testing requirements for fully vaccinated inbound adult travelers and for all inbound travelers under age 18 beginning Feb. 11.

“The framework set out today is intended to be one that will last,” the U.K. Department for Transport said in a statement Monday. “It aims to provide stability for travelers and the travel industry throughout 2022, ensuring the U.K. remains one of the best places in the world to do business.”

The change will end the country’s current policy, under which vaccinated travelers must take a Covid-19 test within two days of arrival.

The U.K. will also ease restrictions for unvaccinated inbound adult travelers by ending the mandatory 10-day self-isolation period. Instead, beginning Feb. 11, unvaccinated adults can avoid quarantine by showing a negative Covid-19 test prior to departure to the U.K. and by taking a PCR test within two days of arrival.

Only individuals whose results come back positive from the day 2 test will have to isolate.
