Le Boat, which rents boats for self-drive vacations in Europe and Canada, is adding the Trent-Severn Waterway to its offerings in Canada in 2024.
The boat-rental company will have eight of its premium Horizon Cruisers operating on the Trent-Severn Waterway from the Horseshoe Bay Marina in Peterborough, Ontario, beginning in May.
The Trent-Severn Waterway connects Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay in Lake Huron and is a year-round destination for recreational boaters and paddlers. The waterway has 42 historical lock stations, including the Peterborough Lift Lock, the tallest hydraulic lift lock in the world, which takes vessels up or down 65 feet.
Travelers can expect plenty of opportunities for fishing, kayaking and canoeing, as well as exploring nature and wildlife along the way.
Horizon Cruisers can sleep up to five people in one to two cabins, while larger, Horizon Plus vessels can accommodate up to nine people; some offer as many as four cabins. Travelers can rent boats for three- to six-night trips or seven- to 10-night vacations.
