Trafalgar donates 10,000 trees

For the past five years in keeping with its JoinTrafalgar initiatives, this holiday season Trafalgar is proud to once again support a cause that is close to their hearts across JoinTrafalgar’s three pillars of people, places and wildlife, and the planet. This year the brand has chosen to donate 10,000 trees to support the regeneration of lands across the eastern Australian seaboard, devastated by the recent fires that have raged across the country.

 “Reforestation has been a core part of our business for a number of years with multiple initiatives alongside our longstanding partner One Tree Planted, including planting a tree for every customer that chooses to travel paper free, with 222 acres of trees being planted so far across Northern California and Tanzania” said Trafalgar’s CEO Gavin Tollman. “With the fires that have devastated Australia in recent weeks, we couldn’t think of a better destination and cause to support this festive season, and this is our way of saying thanks to our valued trade partners and customers, as simply by supporting Trafalgar, you are doing your part too”.

Like the name suggests, JoinTrafalgar is driven by an ongoing commitment to encourage customers to join them on their mission to Make Travel Matter with a year-round global impact across their three pillars of people, places & wildlife and the planet, in partnership with a number of organisations around the world.  More than 60% of itineraries visit one or more UNESCO World Heritage Sites and visit more than 80 hand-selected JoinTrafalgar initiatives which make a positive impact across the three pillars, while providing incredible travel experiences for guests.

For the past four years in lieu of Christmas gifts, the brand has made an annual contribution as a thank you for the support that Trafalgar has received throughout the year, from Trafalgar’s staff, partners and guests. Previous festive gifting has included working alongside another longstanding partner, social enterprise ME to WE to build schools in underprivileged communities as a place to support learning, development and growth in places that need it most.
