Down in the village of Sprowston, Norfolk, just oustide of Norwich, lies a secret tiny house known as The Bookery Nook that’s small on a orchard. Describing itselt as “a simple, eco-friendly, creative, cosy, peaceful place to stay” guests can curl up by the bonfire and the walls of books to browse.
Holidaygoers can play boardgames by candlelight into the late hours, with other enviromentally-friendly facilities including a compost toilet and freshly made vegan soup on request.
Up to three people can stay per visit, with a cosy double bed perched under the ginormous book shelf and a single bed which pulls out from the window seat.
There is also a kitchenette, WiFi, music system and a window seat to watch the local squirrels, hedgehogs and chickens roam outside.
Entering through the garden gate, the orchard is free for those staying to sample the apples, pears, plums and elderberries.
Owned by AirBnb superhost Sarah, this unqiue accomodation is mostly built from recycled materials and has welcomed visitors for the past two years.
She said: “We wanted to create an eco friendly, wild, cosy space within our small city orchard initially for ourselves, and for our children to use, to encourage us all to step out into nature a bit more.
“It felt right to open it up to share with others via airbnb around two years ago, in early 2019, and we have enjoyed every minute!”
For £65 per night with breakfast inlucded, The Bookery Nook is ideally located between the city and the countryside, with several beaches a 30 minute drive away.
If you’d rather stay on site, Sarah can also arrange for Tai Chi and circus skills sessions to try out from fire skills to juggling, both costing an additional £20 for one hour.
Cos is a Tai Chi instructor Cos will lead visitors through the Yang Style form at the Gompa located at the front of the property.
Sarah’s attention to detail to the property and hospitality has garned rave reviews from previous people who have stayed, having five stars out of five on AirBnb.
One former guest said: “You MUST book a stay at The Nook…..its the most beautiful place to stay, hosted by the most amazing kind helpful family.
“Spotless, and full of everything you could need and 10000 other things you never knew you needed. Delicious soup and perfect outdoors space to sit and eat by the fire.”
Another reviewer wrote: “Perfect location if you would like to explore Norwich. Sarah is a really great host, makes you feel super relaxed and welcome. If you like the outdoors and a chilled vibe then this is perfect for you!
One person simply said: “The property is absolutely stunning! So relaxing. The perfect place to be away from the busy city but still close enough to enjoy the sights of Norwich during the day.”
Sarah added: “We have been superhosts for the entire time – reflecting our commitment to our guests, as well as our high standards and the cosy, relaxed, nature based experience we offer.
“These are all enjoyed regularly by our guests, as well as plenty of cat therapy, via cuddles with our three cats. We love to keep things authentic, cosy, peaceful and friendly.”
With the autumn season just around the corner, The Bookery Nook has bookings still avaliable throughout October and November.
