A beautician has revealed how she had to renew her passport – because she has had so many cosmetic enhancements that border control agents struggled to believe she’s the person in the photo.
Joanne Prophet, 28, explained that she has had plastic surgery and cosmetic fillers over the past decade and claimed she was once ‘interrogated’ for over an hour after officers refused to believe she was the person in the passport picture.
After replacing her old passport – which was due to expire next year – with a new one, the Lancashire native shared her old and new passport pictures with her followers on TikTok.
Joanne wrote: ‘Finally updated my passport pic after getting interrogated every time I fly because apparently, this doesn’t look like me… no wonder I keep getting stopped when I go through passport control.’

In the time between the photographs were taken, Joanne has had a nose job and breast implants, as well as dental veneers, chin and lip filler and fat dissolving injections. Her hair has also transformed, going from a platinum blonde pixie cut to long ash-blonde hair with extensions.
‘I’ve proper had a glow-up haven’t I?’ she laughingly told her followers.
The mother-of-two, who owns and runs award-winning Skin Clinic Rossendale, claimed that she renewed her passport after getting ‘interrogated’ by six airport employees in Turkey and pulled aside by more airport officials at Manchester Airport. Staff in Manchester instructed her to rectify her passport photo, explaining that it’s the reason why she frequently gets pulled aside for questioning, Joanne says.
Since it was posted, the TikTok video has been viewed nearly 200,000 times and users flooded the comments, with one likening her new photograph to that of a ‘supermodel’.
Others were desperate to find out what cosmetic enhancements Joanne has had, one user wrote: ‘How have you done this?? PLEASE teach us!’
Some revealed they’d had similar experiences to Joanne at passport control, with one user writing: ‘This happened to me in Singapore! Interrogated me in a room and asked me if I ever had cosmetic surgery, [I] had to pull up pictures from before [getting] filler.’

Another added: ‘The Turkish Immigration cameras at passport control pick up the slightest change. I’ve only had my nose done and they constantly question [me].’ To which Joanne replied: ‘Considering it’s where a lot of people fly for surgery they need to fix that.’
In a separate video, Joanne opened up about the cosmetic procedures she’s had done, admitting that while she felt like she was ‘exposing’ herself, she feels it’s important to be ‘honest’.
She added that cosmetic surgery isn’t for everyone, noting: ‘I’m not by any means saying go get surgery because I feel like you’re all beautiful in your own way.’
