Inside underground ‘prison cell’ where you can spend the night – if you dare

Fancy spending the night in the slammer? Well now you can!

Visitors atPenny Ropecan get locked up for a stay in an underground cell – but don’t worry, no-one will be throwing away the keys!

The Margate AirBnB comes with all the mod cons, plus barred windows and mugshots on the walls.

The cell sleeps two prisoners, who can experience being banged up without actually being locked in, Kent Live reports.

But while the living quarters might resemble that of a cell, there’s a host of modern facilities including Egyptian cotton sheets, tea and coffee making facilities, a private walled garden, barbecue facilities and seasonal organic vegetables.

How many prisoners get all that? You could think of yourself as a VIP – a very important prisoner.

From £95 per night, bid goodbye to your freedom and bunk up in Margate, Kent.

And unlike a lot of accommodation pretty much throughout the UK, this quirky property still has plenty of availability throughout the summer.

Penny Rope is a fun option for a staycation being positioned in the heart of Margate, just a five-minute walk from the Turner Contemporary Museum.

It's a sure-fire winner for families with brave kids too given it's a 10-minute stroll away from Dreamland.

One cellmate said: "A truly unique and interesting place to stay. It is a very well designed use of space, with creative finishing touches.

"It will be a trip my friend and I will be talking about for many years to come."
