Two friends were left cackling with laughter after realising they'd booked a luxury hotel in Amsterdam with a very unique feature.

Thal Jeavons, who documents her travels online under the username @thaljeavons, shared a video of herself and her friend arriving in their hotel room at the Fletcher Hotel in Amsterdam. But they were both left red-faced when they realised they may have to shower in front of each other.

Inside the room, which can cost anywhere from €42.28 (£36) and above per night, was a huge bed facing a glass cylinder in the middle of the room, which turned out to be the shower. One of the women even stepped inside – albeit, fully clothed – to demonstrate just how much you could see.

Over the top of the clip, which has gained more than 1.1million likes, Thal wrote: "When you book a luxury hotel in Amsterdam and the shower's in the middle of the room." In the comments, she confirmed the name of the hotel, writing: "Hotel is hotel Fletcher Amsterdam. It’s a lil out of the way tho so I’d recommend getting one a lot closer but it was still lovely."

TikTok viewers were left stunned by the sight as they took to the comments to poke fun at the situation. Some users even claimed the shower looks like the tube Augustus Gloop was stuck in on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

One user said: "That is the Charlie and Chocolate factory tube." Another added: "It looks like one of those water slides with the trap door you fall through."

A third commented: "All eyes on me in the centre of the ring." Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "Imagine going with fam."

The Fletcher Hotel has been contacted by the Daily Star for a comment about their room design. However, according to the hotel's website, it is a "striking, futuristic hotel" that "is centrally located" and guests are "guaranteed to have fun".

Holidaymakers can choose to stay in one of six types of "multifunctional rooms" including luxury double rooms and family rooms. But looking at the photos — all rooms seem to come with a shower in the centre of the room.
