Beer and wine-themed cruises are among a range of river holidays unveiled by the UK’s largest tour operator. The new themed cruises will launch in October and will last between four and seven days.

Tui Maya will be sailing the Rhine with 155 passengers onboard who will enjoy events, food and drinks, guest speakers and very particular excursions.

The tour operator is planning very original winter sailings with options for those seeking to experience something out of the ordinary onboard a cruise.

From October, the line will offer the cruises Wine on the Rhine, Dancing Down the Rhine and Rhine & Stein.

Wine on the Rhine will be a seven nights trip departing from Frankfurt and calling at ports Rudesheim, Boppard, Koblenz, Speyer, Breisach and Mainz, all Germany, and Strasbourg, France.

In this wine-themed cruise, passengers will be able to choose between nine wine-based excursions.

Some of them include wine tastings and visits to historic wineries.

A half-day trip to try Alsatian wines in the town of Obernai, in France, is one of the most exciting options.

Wine on the Rhine will depart on November 20.

A four-night version of the trip is also available for those who can’t cope with a full week of drinking.

The shorter itinerary will also offer three shore wine-based excursions.

For those who prefer a good beer, Rhine & Stein will be their best choice.

The beer-themed cruise will run from Frankfurt and include stops in Germany and the Netherlands.

Guests will be able to enjoy daily onboard tastings, among other beer-related activities.

The excursions will feature city tours and of course, brewery visits.

Dancing on the Rhine is their third themed cruise which will last six nights and where passengers will spend most on the dance floor.

A professional dance couple will be onboard the cruise and guests will be able to attend dance lessons and enjoy onboard entertainment.  The ship will depart from Frankfurt on November 7 and will call at Rudesheim, Boppard, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Bonn and Koblenz, all Germany.

The themed cruises are part of the line’s winter programme which also includes six Christmas and New Year itineraries running from late October to January 2022.

Passengers will be able to buy tickets from June 1.

Although the prices haven’t been released yet, the Tui Maya is also sailing other itineraries soon.

Some of the next cruises will be The Moselle Valley: Vines & Views departing on August 15 that has a price of £1094 per person and Rhine Gems that will depart on August 22 and with prices that will start from £1064 per person.
