West Yorkshire’s town Hebden Bridge has been named one of the most beautiful towns in the UK. This isn’t the first time the town has made a best list.
Back in 2018, it was on National Geographic’s “cool” list.
National Geographic highlighted the Calder Valley, and “hippyish Hebden Bridge as its epicentre”.
Restaurants and independent shops helped the town get on the list.
It was also named “one of the world’s funkiest towns” by British Airways’ High Life magazine.

And Culture Trip called it “Greatest Town in Europe”.
But it’s now on the spotlight again for another reason.
Hebden Bridge was named by Daffodil Hotel as one of the most beautiful places in the UK.
The market town is single-handedly putting West Yorkshire’s Calder Valley on the map.
So what’s all the fuss about?
With the Rochdale Canal running through it, Hebden Bridge is a countryside haven.
Hardcastle Crags is a National Trust property and a walker’s paradise.
There are 15 miles of trails to explore, from riverpaths to hikes to the top of the valley.
Independent shops, pubs and cafes are great attractions, as well as the literary connections of the town.
Sylvia Plath is buried in Heptonstall’s churchyard, the home of her husband, poet laureate Ted Hughes.
Literary aficionados make a pilgrimage to the couple’s home and visit Sylvia’s grave.
The arts are an important part of the town, and a visit to Heart Gallery, Picture House Cinema or Muse Music & Love Café will give visitors an insight into the art scene of Hebden Bridge.
The town also puts on art festivals galore and always seems to have an event on.
Apart from the countryside and the arts, Hebden Bridge is also known as the lesbian capital of the UK.
Inclusive, the town hosts the Happy Valley Pride festival every year.
Perfectly located between Leeds and Manchester, Hebden Bridge is easily accessible to Britons who want to have a look at this list-making town.
