Paris hotel undergoes stunning renovation with rooms overlooking Champs-Elysées

Unfortunately Brits can't travel to France yet under the current government restrictions.

However, you definitely need to put this Paris hotel on your bucket list for when we can.

The Hotel Barriere’s Le Fouquet’s in Paris has unveiled a stunning renovation that was completed just before the pandemic hit.

The establishment, which began opening again on weekends, features rooms with stunning views of the the Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe and even the Eiffel Tower.

It also features a number of restaurants and bars, which throughout history, have become iconic destinations within Paris for dining and entertaining.

Legendary brasserie Fouquet's Paris, has been serving Parisians and visitors since 1899.

Helmed by three-Michelin-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire, Le Fouquet’s has hosted the gala dinner for The Césars (“the French Oscars”) for more than 40 years; bringing the world of French cinema into the hotel.

Meanwhile, on it's rooftop — and hidden behind a bookshelf — lies the popular gathering spot, Le Marta, ideal for savouring a cup of tea in the afternoon or a cocktail come evening.

The hotel also has it's own spa which is beneath the Champs-Élysées. Spa Diane Barriere offers an indoor pool, KOS Paris products, personalised spa treatments and urban detox programmes.

Talking about the renovation to Daily Star, Géraldine Dobey, General Manager Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet's Paris, said: "The entire hotel was restored and redecorated by renowned French decorator Jacques Garcia.

"This includes all of the rooms, our two restaurants, the spa, our three bars and the rooftop."

She added: "We inaugurated a new extension of 19 rooms and suites including four exceptional suites offering breathtaking views of the Champs-Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe.

"The suites are called the Champs-Elysées Suite, the George V Suite, the Arc de Triomphe Suite and the Harcourt Suite.

"These new rooms and suites have also been decorated by Jacques Garcia in a very elegant Parisian style.

"The Harcourt Suite has a specific decoration with the colours of the famous Studio Harcourt, an emblematic partner of Fouquet's Paris; the lounge of this suite has the ability to be transformed into a real photo studio."

Asked what the inspiration being the hotel was, Géraldine added: "Hotel Barrière Le Fouquet's Paris is a Parisian establishment, representative of the French art of living.

"This extension was therefore designed in the purest Parisian style. The original mouldings and fireplaces were preserved and restored."

Talking about the reopening, Géraldine said the hotel is "delighted" to be able to welcome back guest.

She added: "As we reopen our doors, we are also getting ready to welcome back our 150 employees who are dedicated to hospitality.

"This is good news for them— they are excited to be back and to rediscover their workstations— some of which were completely renovated during the closure.
