Pub launches airline trolley to serve guests to give that in-flight fizz feeling

Pubs up and down the nation finally re-opened this month and we’ve enjoyed finally seeing friends and family over a pint.

But, despite things slowly getting better, the pandemic means that foreign travel is still off the cards until at least May 17.

Anyone else dying for some sun and sea?

Well, to help us feel that holiday feeling one pub has gone the extra mile and serves drinks with an airline trolley!

We know, it’s a little silly, but it’s all in good fun.

That in-flight feeling might be available a little closer to ground level in Manchester, at The Oast House.

Hoping to give visitor’s staycations a more authentic feel, the airline trolley’s designed to recreate the buzz of being served your first ‘holiday’ drink on an airplane.

Waiters will travel around the pubs outdoor tables serving guests throughout the day to ensuring all the customers – both walk-in and booked – have a drink in hand.

Like any decent trolley-service, guests can choose from a selection of packaged beers, spirits and, of course, the iconic European spritz, Aperol.

Who doesn’t love a good spritz in summer?

The trollies also serve a practical use, making use of the social distanced aisles created between tables and ensure guests can stay seated.

That way everyone is kept safe.

Matt Lewty, The Oast House, said “We know that guests miss both ordering from the bar and are craving to be back on an airplane."

He continued: “We've had many guests book their table place of foreign hen-dos or group trips abroad, so this will go some way to giving those missed holiday memories a 2 nd chance.

“As a pub, we believe in providing a magic experience to guests all year round, the trolley’s were born out of trying to keep the experience of being at the bar, but being mindful of respecting the government’s covid-guidelines.”

The service kicked off on April 17 and the bar accept both bookings and all ins.

And, using an order-to-table app you can order yummy pub grub, including hanging kebabs, burgers and pies.
