Disney World opening its Star Wars hotel experience on March 1

Walt Disney World Resort will debut the immersive Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel and experience on March 1.

General bookings will open on Oct. 28 for the two-night themed stays that include dining experiences and a visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the Star Wars-themed land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios park.

Some groups, such as Disney Vacation Club members, Disney Passholders and Disney Visa Cardmembers, will receive access to an early booking window.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a new hotel and attraction rolled into one. Packages include accommodations, meals (excluding alcoholic and specialty beverages), valet parking, and activities like lightsaber training, model ship building and a droid-racing competition.

During the two-night stay, guests can choose their roles, fighting for the rebel Resistance, training as a Jedi, battling on the side of the First Order, or dodging authorities as a smuggler.

In August, Disney revealed sample pricing for the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, with a two-night package for a four-person family starting at approximately $6,000.

Room categories include standard cabins that sleep four to five guests, one-bedroom Galaxy Class Suites that sleep up to four guests and two-bedroom Grand Captain Suites that accommodate up to eight guests.
