West Hotel Sydney launches a series of experiential offerings
Australia’s first Curio Collection by Hilton property launches a series of experiential offerings based on guests’ curiosity types: Culturalist, Challenger, Pathfinder, Spiritualist and Epicurean.
This summer West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection by Hilton launches a curated program of tailored experiences as an on ongoing commitment to personalise the level of individual service for its guests. These new experiences include: guided fitness mentoring, a pictorial journey of the city’s most photogenic locations, a crystal ritual, a virtual book-club, and live, bar-side cocktail infusions.
As part of Curio Collection, West Hotel inspires curiosity amongst its guests to discover authentic, local and tailored experiences while they travel. Recent research from Curio Collection found that 91% of people consider themselves curious and this reflects on their travel choices.
Upon check-in, guests are encouraged to complete The Curiosity Quiz, which will identify what type of traveller they are: Culturalist, Challenger, Pathfinder, Spiritualist and Epicurean. They will then be offered a carefully curated series of experiences and events that complement their travel type.
For the Culturalist, West Hotel has partnered with award-winning book blogger, Lucy Pearson of The Literary Edit and also Bondi’s Gertrude and Alice literary ambassador. Each month, Lucy will exclusively release a West Hotel ‘top 3 book recommendations’ for a virtual literary discussion, with the hard-copy books instantly available for purchase at Concierge.
For the Challenger, guests can take advantage of a curated 5km running map that showcase local landmarks surrounding West Hotel, including Barangaroo. They will also be offered a personalised fitness mentoring program developed by fitness coach, presenter and creator, Danielle Bazergy. These offerings will ensure guests stay motivated to continue their fitness goals whilst travelling.
For the Pathfinder, the acclaimed Sydney-based photographer, Demas Rusli, has designed a photogenic selection of favourite Sydney destinations, showcasing the beautiful Emerald City. He provides personal insights behind each shot, with this captivating photographic journey exhibited in the hotel to guests, as they seek out new local places and adventures.
For the Spiritualist, West Hotel has partnered with Australia’s ethically-sourced Stoned Crystals to create a Meditative Crystal Ritual kit, that can be loaned from concierge overnight for guests wanting to incorporate mindfulness and intention to their day.
For the Epicurean, the hotel’s Solander Dining and Bar will host ‘supper club’ events throughout the week. Chemistry will meet cocktails, as impressive rotavapour sessions will entertain guests at the bar over small bites, involving the live infusion of natural ingredients to craft the perfect Solander summer cocktail concoctions.
“We recognise that each guest is inspired by a different personal desire or motivation when travelling, so we have introduced these curated experiences to ignite the curiosity amongst our guests, and ensure they have a truly authentic and memorable Sydney experience each and every time they stay with us,” said Jane Lyons, General Manager of West Hotel.
“No matter what your travel type, West Hotel offers a premium level of service at all times, steering clear of the ‘one shoe fits all’ mentality. We acknowledge each of our guests with a personalised, connected rapport when they choose to stay with us.”
West Hotel launched in January 2018, positioned on the western side of Sydney city centre beside iconic Darling Harbour, lively King Street Wharf, and up-and-coming cultural and retail hub Barangaroo. The five Curio travel personalities include:
Epicurean – you navigate the world via your tastebuds, finding yourself in backwoods bakeries, rooftop restaurants and tiki-themed speakeasies. But while loving such unique events and attractions, there’s a simple thrill in photographing a perfectly plated Cacio e Pepe.
Spiritualist – you see the universe through your third-eye. There’s a mind-body awakening you achieve through sunrise yoga, meditation and the pleasure of a hot stone massage. Your love for others is shown by sharing how you practice wellness.
Challenger – you not only love sports and attend live games, you thrive on the thrill of competing against others. You’re the first to admit that to achieve any goal, you have to truly believe you can do it. And that’s what you do, time and time again.
Pathfinder – you prefer surfing the pacific over surfing the internet. Your phone is a distant second to a walk through the woods or catching a sunrise from the mountaintop. The path you take is nearly invisible, leading others to wonder if anyone’s gone this way before.
Culturalist – you love travelling just to see something you never have before. It’s this discovery of culture that pulls you toward sculpture gardens and performances in every community. No matter what you’re immersed in, it’s the experience you crave the most.
