Ireland's Cashel Palace Hotel opening in March

Cashel Palace Hotel, a five-star hotel in Ireland’s County Tipperary, will open in March.

A Relais & Chateaux member, the 42-room property includes nine suites, all set in a restored Palladian manor in the shadow of the Rock of Cashel, a historic site.

Once home to the archbishops of Cashel, the hotel features three acres of gardens and a private pathway to the Rock, which is also visible from some of the bedrooms.

The Spa offers a heated swimming pool, outdoor seaweed baths, hot and cold “experience showers,” a Jacuzzi and a steam room and sauna.

The facilities also include a fully equipped gym, hair salon and yoga studio.

Dining options, overseen by culinary director Stephen Hayes, include the Bishop’s Buttery for formal dining, as well as casual dining, outdoor dining and afternoon tea in various setting on the property.

Cashel Palace’s basement houses the original Guinness Bar, dating from the 1740s, and the adjacent Mikey Ryan’s Bar & Kitchen offers casual indoor and alfresco dining.

Activities include horseback riding across Tipperary’s Thoroughbred Trail and kayaking on the River Suir’s Blueway, about 12 miles from Cashel.

Rooms start at $345 a night; $755 for suites.
