Want bargain flights? This money saving hack could shave 30% off your next holiday

As the warmer months have drawn to a close, many have began booking winter holidays.

Last year, more than 3.9 million Brits booked December getaways – and similar figures are predicted for this year.

ONS statistics have shown that 23% people in the UK have spent Christmas day abroad, while 42% would be up for doing the same.

So if you’re considering some festive fun on foreign soil, you’ll probably be interested in hearing this money saving hack.

Price comparison website Skyscanner has revealed how to get the best deal on your Christmas holiday.

Apparently, placing your booking at a certain time of year can help to keep costs low.

The website analysed travel data from 2017, before determining when flights are the cheapest.

Research showed that it’s best to pay for your journey 13 weeks ahead of travel.

Lisa Tyndall, the senior growth manager at Skyscanner, said: “Looking at our flight data we can see that the best time to book flights for Christmas tends to be 13 weeks in advance… which could save travellers up to 29%.

As Christmas is 16 weeks away, it’s probably advisable to get booking in a few weeks time.

If you do leave plans until the last minute, there are still ways to save money on your next flight.
